I see stitching lines on the front leather panel — is this a defect?No — this is expected. Wrapping leather onto a unibody console shape requires a seam in this area. Once installed, it sits flush and isn't noticeable in normal use.
Is the piano black trim fully covered?Partially by design. A thin edge of the factory piano black insert is left intentionally exposed — not a fitment gap or a defect. Covering every millimeter would make the cover read as a sealed-on aftermarket slab; leaving that edge visible keeps the factory panel's own lines readable, so the finished piece looks like an upgrade to the console rather than something glued over it. We also leave breathing room around the buttons to preserve the OEM button feel and keep the cover from looking like an aftermarket add-on.
Does this block the ambient lighting?Yes, from directly above — the cover sits over the section of trim the ambient light strip runs through, so you won't see the light as a defined line from a top-down view anymore. It's not lost, though: the light still shows from the sides of the console, reading as a soft glow along the lower edge instead of a sharp line from above.
